Last year in Aktobe the books about Satanism by the writer Alister Crowly were withdrawn from free sale. This was reported at Aktobe Oblast Akimat Closed Meeting dedicated to religious situation in the region by the Chief of Department for social and religious organisations within the Regional Department of Home Policy, Amanbai Rsalin. According to his words, the given literature of dubious content was sold through a bookstall near Aktobe Railway Station.

Besides, А. Rsalin said, last year the specialists of his department studied more than 10 thousand of religious books, but observed nothing dubious about their content. А. Rsalin noted, that in spite of the fact, that officers of the

Department for religious organisations actually have no rights to study dubious books that are on sale, because in the country there is no special law and literary-religious expertise, "it is not the cause for inactivity".

According to him, in total in Aktobe Oblast there are 71 registered religious organizations today. These include 37 Moslem mosques and 28 Orthodox temples. Others are communities and funds.
