Negotiations between N.Nazarbaev and J.Zemin

Jiang Zemin, chairman of the People's Republic of China, has held negotiations with Nursultan Nazarbaev, president of Kazakhstan, currently in China on the State visit, during which an exchange of opinions on bilateral relations has taken place, KZ-today correspondent has learned from Xinhua agency report.

In particular, Jiang Zemin stated that "as a result of an overall and final decision of border problems Kazakhstani-Chinese relations now become a connecting link of friendship between the peoples of our countries". Jiang Zemin has made propositions on a further development of Kazakhstani-Chinese relations. In his view, presently "it's necessary to strengthen the idea of the development of friendship between our two countries from generation to generation".

Besides, Jiang Zemin has made a statement "on the necessity to improve the interaction and activate the cooperation. Both parties must develop mutual understanding, trust each other and assist to the improvement of an overall cooperation".

According to Jiang Zemin, "the material basis of Kazakhstani-Chinese relations must be enriched from the strategic point of view". Jiang Zemin observed the necessity of "an activation of bilateral cooperation in trade and economy, an improvement of the trade structure. "We have to improve the cooperation in energy and provide the businessmen of both States with more beneficial conditions", - the chairman of China stressed.
