Karaganda Oblast Prosecutor's office uncovered violations of the Law "On mineral resources" by "Ispat-Karmet" and "Kazakhmys" companies.

Yergali Merzadinov, Karaganda Oblast prosecutor, advised of this during his speech at the Oblast Prosecutors conference.

"Kazakhmys" corporation, Ye.Merzadinov said, exceeded the volume of extracted mineral resources and they are extracting certain ores extraction of which is not provided by their Agreement with the Government of RK. As per contract, lime extraction is allowed in the volume of 90 thousand tons per annum, while in reality 240 thousand areextracred. Coal Department of OJSC "Ispat-Karmet" during its mining works in the basin is developing only thick layers, leaving finr coallayers within the volume of balanced coals. Also as a result of inspection, violations of the Law were uncovered at other big industrial enterprises of the Oblast. Prosecutors presented 7 reports and 20 instructions on punishment of the violations of the Law on mineral resources. Three officials were charged with administrative crimes. 5 appeals were submitted to the court. LLP "Komirinvest" has had to close its production activities because of violations of current legisaltion.
