Mazhilis approves amendments to law on forensic examination

Ubaidollah Stamkulov, vice minister of justice, says that the document must serve to "perfect the legislation on independent and objective forensic examination activities." In particular, he explained, as per the current legislation the experts must pass both qualification examinations and attestation. The authors of the draft law suggest that "the expert after having passed the qualification examinations should have a right to carry out forensic examination activities," and that he should pass the attestation only once in five years. The attestation of forensic experts is suggested to be carried out by a commission authorised by the Ministry of Health and that of experts from the Forensic Examination Centre - by a commission of the Ministry of Justice. The draft law has been submitted to the senate for consideration. |
