The Uralsk Philharmonia, on the stage of which Phyodor Shalyapin gave a performance 100 years ago, is opened again after capital reconstruction

A solemn ceremony of opening regional Philharmonic named after Garifollah Kurmangaliev took place in Uralsk on October 28, 2001. The Philharmonic was just reconstructed.

The stars of the Kazakh classical music Marat Bisengaliev, Janiya Aubakirova, Maira Mukhamedkyzy and others took part in the ceremony.

Dyusen Kaseinov, Vice-Minister of culture, information and public accord of the RK, delivering a speech at the ceremony, declared that the Uralsk regional Philharmonic is one of the best in Kazakhstan by its acoustics and other parameters. "This is why here, as well as in Astana and Almaty, different contests and festivals of the Republican and International scale will be taking place" - he said.
