As per the Chief Specialist of the Sport and Tourism Regional Committee, Bakhyt Aimaganbetov, it's for the first time during the years of independence when the chess tournaments of such scale are held in Aktobe. It's the 60th championship in Kazakhstan. The best chess players of the republic take part in the event. Totally 14 people will fight for the status of the best chess players of Kazakhstan. Vladimir Seredenko and Askar Kubenov represent Aktobe. The five winners of the chess tournament will represent Kazakhstan at the Asia championship that will take place in the middle of April in India. As per B. Aimaganbetov, after the opening of Intellectual Sports School in Aktobe this winter, the great opportunities are open for the sportsmen of Aktobe. The organizers of the championship think that in future the child republican championships will be held in Aktobe. |
