Idrisov had a meeting with State secretary of the USA Mr. K. Powell during his work trip to the USA in September 28. As the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, they exchanged the opinions concerning the development of the situation in the world in the context of the latest terrorist acts in the USA, situation in Afghanistan and also planning by the American side actions in the struggle against international terrorism. The interlocutors established the necessity of joining efforts of the world community in the struggle with this disaster. Mr. Powell expressed appreciation to the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Nazarbaev for supporting and readiness to the practical interaction concerning these issues. State secretary of the USA has informed about American approaches to the terrorism's problem and struggle against it, and also about comprehensive consultations in this field with different states. According to the information of the MFA's press service, Mr. Idrisov highly estimated the Washington's decision to provide suspension, long-term and address of planning antiterrorist measures and readiness to the tight cooperation with the world community in the frames of forming coalition. Kazakhstan's diplomat has informed State secretary of the USA about future meeting of the heads of the states-participants of the MITMA( the Meeting of Interaction and Trusting Measures in Asia) in November 8-10 in Almaty and underlined the urgency of the issues concerning common opposing to new threatens, putting in the summit's agenda. The Minister handed the invitation to visit Kazakhstan and suggested to connect the visit with the summit that will give an opportunity for additional exchanging with opinions concerning the issues of regional security with the participants of the Almaty's meeting. The meetings of the Minister with the deputy State secretary in the affairs of the Southern Asia Mr. Rock and in the non-spreading issues Mr. Vulf took place at that day. The issues concerning regional security, humanitarian aspects of the situation in Afghanistan, the perspectives of further deepening of bilateral cooperation in the non-spreading issues were discussed in details. American side expressed readiness to give additional financial assets for strengthening boarders in the Central Asia in the frames of the program " Central-Asian initiative in security". |
