IT IS A PROBLEM FOR KAZAKHSTAN TO ACCEPT A GREAT STREAM OF REFUGEES - THE SECRETARY OF SECURITY SOVIET

It is a problem for Kazakhstan to accept the great stream of refugees , said the President's assistant concerning the issues of national security, the secretary of the security Soviet Mr. A. Sarsenbaev, according to the results of the special meeting with the leaders of considerable state departments.

As Mr. Sarsenbaev underlined, Kazakhstan has definite international obligations, which it completely accomplishes. Kazakhstan accepted several thousands refugees during the conflict in Tadjikistan. About 9 thousand from them are still on the Kazakhstan's territory.

More than 11 thousand refugees came to Kazakhstan during worsening of the situation in northern Caucuses. Besides this, several thousands illegal migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Shri-Lanka, and neighbor countries are now in Kazakhstan.

Now the considerable departments are occupying with the work of their looking for and deportation. More than 1 thousand foreign citizens , tried to penetrate in the country

illegally , were taken away. Mr. Sarsenbaev underlined that the great number of refugees and illegal migrants make worse the criminal state in the country.

Every year Kazakhstan accepts several thousands oralmans , and provides them with all necessary things. According to this, our internal resources mainly are used. Besides it, winter conditions of the republic are not favorable for accepting refugees from the southern countries. Also Mr. Sarsenbaev said that Kazakhstan is ready to give humanitarian help to the countries, which have boarders with Afghanistan in the case of mass stream of refugees. " We are ready to make all necessary for preventing humanitarian disaster in the region',- underlined Mr. Sarsenbaev. According to his words, Kazakhstan will support joint position , taking into consideration national interests and internal possibilities of the state.
