III Congress of Kazakhstan's Journalists opens tomorrow

The Congress of Kazakhstan's Journalists (CKJ) opens tomorrow, on 19 February, in Atyrau. KZ-today correspondent has been advised about this in the CKJ executive committee.

Around 280 delegates - heads of national mass media, chief editors of the regional mass media, public and political figures, famous journalists, and representatives of international organisations - will take part in it.

According to the CKJ executive committee, Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov, minister of information, Dyussen Kasseinov, minister of culture, and Onalsyn Zhymabekov, minister of justice, are expected to participate in it. Employees of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited in Kazakhstan have also been invited.

The congress programme includes discussions on the state order formation problems, the advertisement market development in Kazakhstan, the experience of Kazakhstani mass media work with state authorities, the interaction between mass media and press services, and new approaches towards the standards of journalist cadre training.

On the second day of the Congress work, 20 February, the CKJ prizes "Journalist of the Year" will be awarded.
