It is suggested that delegations from Turkey, Russia, Iran, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, representatives of international and regional oil and gas, transport and tanker companies, a number of NGO will participate in the summit. The summit participants will regard a number of environmental issues influencing the environmental systems of the region to develop regional interstate and industrial environmental co-operation. Besides, at the meeting it is planned to discuss the development of environmentally secure methods and oil and gas survey and extraction technologies and the energy transportation in the Caspian and Black Sea region. The summit "Caspian & Black Sea Ecology 2004" will be opened by Osman Pepe, Turkish minister of environment and forestry. One of the main summit issues will be a discussion on navigation programme in Bosporus and Dardanelles, currently implemented by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Turkey. The programme provides a monitoring of transport jams problem, caused by the tankers passing Bosporus and Dardanelles, as well as a study of alternatives to the current rules of passing straits. It is suggested that Kazakhstan will be represented at the summit by such companies as "Kazecoproject" LLP, "Kazmunaigas" Exploration and Extraction" JSC, "KazTransGaz" JSC, "Intergas Central Asia" CJSC, "ManghistauMunaiGaz" OJSC, "Aktau International Commercial Port" RSV, Shell (Kazakhstan), the Ministry of Environment of RK and others. |
