Turkmenistan marked ninth anniversary of neutral state status

The 50 UN general assembly session supported the country's intention to secure a neutral state status in its resolution on "Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan" nine years ago. The President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov marked in his speech that the neutral policy is of great importance for the prosperity of the independent state, economic growth and for its international authority. Turkmen President also congratulated young people of Turkmenistan on Students Day. This holiday celebrates along with the Day of Neutrality in compliance with the head of state resolution.
