Government delegation negotiates aid to Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek

A government delegation from Kazakhstan arrives in Bishkek to negotiate its aid to the republic with the government of Kyrgyzstan. Umarzak Uzbekov, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to KR, made such statement at a meeting with interim president of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev, KZ-today correspondent reports.

Kyrgyz presidential press service says that U. Uzbekov said that the delegation arrives in Kyrgyzstan before the end of this week. Bilateral co-operation and financial aid to Kyrgyzstan will be discussed at the talks.

K. Bakiyev at his meeting with the ambassador expressed his gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan, for his timely reactions to requests from the Kyrgyz government. He assured that the new Kyrgyz government will do everything possible to make the economic partnership more dynamic.

The damage done to Kyrgyzstan by mass disorders on 24-25 March equals $100 million according to preliminary data. K. Bakiyev asked N. Nazarbayev about humanitarian aid on 13 April. In particular, currently Kyrgyzstan needs fuel and lubricating substances for springtime field works, means to fight consequences of natural disasters, and medicines. N. Nazarbayev in his turn ordered the government of Kazakhstan to take urgent measures to provide food, financial, and technical aid to Kyrgyzstan. A possibility of granting state loans to the neighbouring country under guarantees of the Kyrgyz government was also expressed.
