January 11. Kazakhstan Today - The official visit of the Secretary of State - Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kanat Saudabayev, to Vienna began today. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Askar Abdrahmanov, informed at a weekly briefing, the agency reports citing MFA's press service.
According to the press service, the visit of the OSCE chairman, K. Saudabayev, to the Austrian Republic will take place on January 12 - 15. During the visit, K. Saudabayev will meet the President of Austria, Haynts Fischer, and the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Michael Spindelegger, to discuss the questions of further development of the Kazakhstan-Austrian cooperation within the limits of the international organizations. Following the results of the negotiations, the officials will sign the intergovernmental agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments.
According to the press service, Astana considers Vienna as one of the key political and economic partners in the EU and is interested in development of bilateral dialogue in all spheres and at all levels.
During the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan will hold the meetings with the management of the UN structures based in Vienna - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the contract on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and universal prohibition of nuclear tests to discuss the questions of cooperation of Kazakhstan with these organizations.
