Kazakhstan Today - The ceremony of commissioning of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Iran along the route Dovletabad - Serahs - Hangeran with the extent of 30.5 kilometres will be held on January 6, 2010, the agency reports citing Internet newspaper Turkmenistan.ru.
According to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov, and the President of Iran, Mahmud Ahmadinezhad, will take part in the ceremony.
"Construction of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan - Iran from the deposit Dovletabad in the southeast of Turkmenistan has been carried out according to the reached two-way agreement on substantial growth of volumes of deliveries of Turkmen natural gas to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Commissioning of the gas pipeline system Dovletabad - Serahs - Hangeran will allow, taking into account the existing capacities, increasing volumes of deliveries of natural gas from Turkmenistan to Iran up to 20 billion cubic meters annually.
