170 projects in various branches of economy realized in 2009

Astana. December 28. Kazakhstan Today - About 170 projects have been realized in 2009 due to state support in various branches of economy in Kazakhstan. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, informed at New Year's ball organized by akimat of Astana in the Palace of Independence, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

"The President said that, despite the world crisis, 2009 for Kazakhstan was safe. About 170 projects in various branches of economy have been realized in the country due to the state support. More than 400 thousand workplaces have been created, thousand kilometers of roads, hundreds schools and hospitals, social infrastructure objects have been repaired," the press service informed.

This coming year will be full of important events. Kazakhstan will preside in OSCE and will begin realization of the first five-year plan of its innovative-technological development. The Customs Union arrangements of three countries: Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia will come into force on January 1. The 15th anniversary of the Constitution of Kazakhstan and the 65th victory anniversary in the Great Patriotic War will be solemnly celebrated next year.

The President congratulated Kazakhstan citizens on the coming New year and wished them health, happiness, prosperity and harmony.
