Kazakhstan needs to join global networks for forecasting of earthquakes

Almaty. December 25. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan needs to join global networks for the forecasting of earthquakes. Vice Minister of Emergency of Kazakhstan, Valery Petrov, said in an interview to journalists, the agency reports.

"The quality of equipment of seismic grounds and seismic stations in Kazakhstan is very low. We need to join the global networks," V. Petrov said."

He also informed that "the seismologists do not expect strong earthquakes in the near future."

As informed earlier, Kazakhstan was included into the Global Network for the Forecasting of Earthquakes (GNFE) in December of 2009.
