Astana. December 24. Kazakhstan Today - Tariff quota will be introduced from January 1, 2010 on import of fresh, cooled or frozen meat, pork and fowl ( 0201, 0202, 0203, 0207 codes), the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

"Application of tariff quota means that lowered customs duties will be imposed on some volume of goods. Import of goods over the established volume will be taxed at the increased customs duties rates. Import of goods under the lowered customs duties rates will be carried out on the basis of licenses," the press-service explained.

The size of tariff quota and the rate of import customs duties have been confirmed by the decision of the EurAsEC Commission of Customs Union of November 27, 2009 № 130 on uniform customs-tariff regulation of the Customs Union of Belorussia, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
