Akim of Eastern Kazakhstan area informed President of results of social and economic development of the region

Astana. December 1. Kazakhstan Today - The akim of the Eastern Kazakhstan area, Berdibek Saparbayev, informed the head of state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, of the results of social and economic development of the region from the beginning of 2009, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

"Now, GDP growth of the Eastern Kazakhstan area is at the last year's level. Despite the difficulties connected with the negative influence of the world crisis, the economy in the Eastern Kazakhstan area has been stably developing."

The akim also reported to the President on the course of realization of the large investment projects directed at further industrialization of the Eastern Kazakhstan area.

"More than 450 billion KZT have been allocated for this purpose. The large-scale project is construction of a copper-smelting factory, being implemented within manufacture modernization of JSC Kazzink.
