Atyrau. October 1. Kazakhstan Today - The head of state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during his working trip to the Atyrau area started the beginning of construction of the road Uzen - frontier with Turkmenistan, a part of the railroad line Uzen - Gyzylgaya - Etrek - Gorgan, the agency reports.

The project will create the additional roads connecting Kazakhstan with Turkmenistan, Iran, the Gulf States, the Southern and South East Asia.

The extent of the railroad line in the territory of Kazakhstan will be 142 kilometers, in the territory of Turkmenistan - 470 kilometers, and in the territory of Iran - about 70 kilometers. The cost of Kazakhstan's part of the project is 62 billion KZT.
