"High professionalism, cinematographic taste, recognition at international festivals allow us to perceive the modern cinema of Kazakhstan as an aesthetic phenomenon." Israeli critics have stated this after their acquaintance with Kazakhstani films during the Kazakh cinema days taking place in Israel from 1 to 12 February, KZ-today reports.

According to the Israeli critics the rise of the Kazakh cinema was one of chief revelations of the post-Soviet era.

The MFA of RK has advised KZ-today that a delegation including representatives of "Kazakhfilm" NC and famous directors headed by Sergey Azimov, "Kazakhfilm" director general visits Israel to present the Kazakhstani cinema. During the cinema days the Kazakhstani delegation meets spectators, filmmakers, representatives of the Israeli culture and art.

In total the Kazakhstani filmmakers have brought six films in different styles to the festival. In particular, Satybaldy Narymbetov presented his film "Layla's Prayer" about destinies of people who lived near the Semipalatinsk nuclear test ground.
