Kazakhstan and Spain agree on economic co-operation

Kazakhstan and Spain have reached an accord "on preparing an agreement on co-operation in economic and technological development of RK, Juan Costa Climent, minister of science and new technologies of the Kingdom of Spain, said today, on 28 January, after his meeting with Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of RK, in the capital residence.

For these ends, J. Climent observed, "Spanish ventures must make efforts to pass their advanced technologies to Kazakhstan". Besides, the minister assured, the Spanish government will "provide necessary resources" for a full-fledged exchange in knowledge and experience.

According to J. Climent, the development of economic and political Kazakhstani-Spanish relations "have an extremely important significance" for the two countries. He said that the king of Spain Juan Carlos I had passed a greeting letter to the president of Kazakhstan. "In his letter the king expresses full support to those relations that exist and will be developing between our countries", - the minister said.

During his meeting with the president of RK J. Climent observed that Spain "acknowledges Kazakhstan as a stabilising element in Central Asia". According to him, Spain highly estimates efforts of the government of RK in stabilisation and development of the country.
