"KazTransCom" gets state license to provide international communication

"KazTransCom" has obtained a state license to provide distance and international telephone communication services on the entire territory of Kazakhstan, a statement circulated by the company press service on 7 December says. Thus, a second operator of distant and international calls appears in Kazakhstan.

According to the management of the Agency for computerisation and communication of RK, the fact of appearance of a new alternative operator on the market means a beginning of demonopolising process on the telecommunication market and an opportunity for the development of natural competition, which will raise the quality of communication, lower the existing tariffs on the market of distant and international communication, for internet services, for city network mobile calls. It is also expected that the lowered tariffs for communication services will largely define the competitiveness of Kazakhstani companies.

"KazTransCom" is one of big companies on the telecommunication market of RK. The total length of the company communication networks is 11 thousand km, the trunk network - 4,000 km. Currently a trunk network Atyrau - Aktau - Kalamkas is being installed. "KazTransCom" also plans to open its own international data transfer channels with Uzbekistan, China, and Russia.
