Kz-Today correspondent informs from Astana that deputies of the Majilis have unanimously voted for the text of appeal to the US President and Congress on the situation in Afghanistan.

"We call for the USA to plan antiterrorist activity on the basis of thorough analysis in order to avoid victims among peaceful population and prevent humanitarian catastrophe. Otherwise, consistency of taking such actions will be doubted and the image of the USA and their partners on anti-terrorist coalition will be harmed" reads the text.

In the text it is also noted that more than ten days passed since USA began attacking Afghanistan. To our regret air strikes did not reach targets. More regretful is that there are numerous victims among the peaceful population, humanitarian situation in Afghanistan has worsened. We, deputies of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, which is situated close to Afghanistan, can not remain indifferent with regards to such a situation.

Moreover, the deputies remind that "Kazakhstan has been calling the world community to resolve Afghani crisis on a long-term complex basis under the auspices of the UN for the purpose of complete economic, political and humanitarian rehabilitation of Afghanistan".

The text also reads that Kazakhstan shares grief of the American people related to the terror attacks of New York and Washington on September 11, 2001. We consider these crimes as a challenge to the whole world community.
