Today grain-crops in Kazakhstan have been harvested from the territory about 6 million hectares from 13,3 million of harvested areas. The average harvest forms about 11 centners from 1 hectare. The vice-minister of agriculture Mr. T. Nurkianov announced this news to the agency KZ-today.

According to the words of Mr. Nurkianov, harvesting speed remain behind from usual ones, because ripening of the grain-crops came slowly- the year was raining, the temperature's regime was lowest than previous. The most part of areas will be harvested by dumping and further selection., said the vice-minister.

He couldn't say the prognoses sum of the harvest. Corn stand better than last year. In 1999 was harvested the record harvest - 16 million tones. But this year not only corn remains behind in ripening, so meteorology's prognoses are not comforting. Hold up of the harvesting speed will lead to the harvesting losses. However, the vice-minister considers, that harvest must not be less, than last year - 12,7 million tones. " But everything depends on the weather conditions",-added the vice-minister.
