The first load of crude oil delivered on Kairan-1 block in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian offshore. KZ-today correspondent learned this information from an official report of Eni company.

As it was noted in the report, the well, drilled to a depth of 3,850 metres, met an oil pay- zone of more than 500 metres.

Production tests carried out have indicated a daily flow rate of 4,100 barrels of good quality oil.

As it was reported before, Kairan-1 is the 11 offshore structures in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian offshore, programmed by the North Caspian Sea PSA. Within the project the wells were all successful and have led to the discovery of the Kashagan field (2002), the largest reservoir discovered in the last thirty years.

PSA has been signed between the government of RK and Agip KCO in November 1997 on the development and geological survey of the first 11 offshore structures located in the Caspian Sea.

The consortium Agip KCO unites BG Group, Exxon Mobil, Inpex Masela Ltd., Phillips, Shell and Total. The first oil on Kashagan field was discovered on a well "Vostok-1" in summer 2000. The proven field reserves equal 1.5 billion tons.
