President proposes to discuss candidates for govt with parliament

"I consider it necessary to give to the parliament opportunities for bigger influence on the formation of the government by means of introducing praxis of discussing candidates not only for prime minister, but also for ministerial positions." Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan, declared it June 15, speaking at an extraordinary seventh congress of "Otan" party in Astana.

According to him candidates for ministers "can be discussed at sessions of the parliament profile committees." "It will allow to increase the level of confidence and mutual understanding between the parliament and the government," - the head of state believes. At the same time N. Nazarbayev observed that "the deputy corps will bear its share of responsibility for the state of affairs in the country."
