Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan, has supported the deal on purchase of 100% of "PetroKazakhstan" shares by the CNPC. Cheng Den, chairman of CNPC, has stated this today, November 10, KZ-today correspondent reports from Astana.

"The CNPC is working in Kazakhstan as a foreign investor during 8 years already. The construction of Atasu-Alashankou oil pipeline that started September 28 of the last year will be completed on December 16," - Cheng Den observed.

"The completion of the pipeline and the purchase of "PetroKazakhstan" shares will signify a new phase of co-operation between the CNPC and "KazMunaiGaz," - he has added.

The CNPC acquired 100% of "PetroKazakhstan" shares in late October, 2005, for $55.00 per share.

As a result of the deal "PetroKazakhstan" has become a section in full property of the CNPC.
