International cycling race to take place in Astana

Nikolai Proskurin, president of the Cycling Federation of Kazakhstan, has stated this today, September 27, KZ-today correspondent reports.
"It is the first significant event for fans and specialists of the Kazakhstani cycling. The purpose of the event is propaganda and promotion of the cycling in our country," - he said.
23 cyclists will participate in the race, including such world cycling stars as Giuseppe Guerini, Oscar Sevilla, Vyacheslav Yekimov, Alexander Vinokurov, Paolo Savaldelli, Andrei Kashechkin, and others.
The competition will take place in the new administrative centre of Astana, around "Baiterek" monument. The cyclists will have to cover a 50 km distance. |
