This famous public figure submitted his application on the registration of his candidacy for the presidential race in the Central Election Commission on September 16, KZ-today reports with reference to the CEC.
Amantai-kaji, 63, is a head of the antinuclear front and of the all-Kazakhstani Peace March "Attan-Kazakhstan." He was one of the organizers of "Nevada-Semipalatinsk" movement.
In October, 1998, Amantai-kaji was nominated as a candidate for president, but he ws not registered because of an administrative breach - participation in an unsanctioned demo in defence of Zhanatas and Kentau residents. |
