Kazakhstan to contribute to Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund

The Government of Kazakhstan will render support transferring means to the Fund of the injured by Hurricane Katrina, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the yesterday's meeting with former USA President Bill Clinton in his Almaty residence, KZ-today correspondent reports.

The head of state expressed condolences to the American people and the bereaved families of the natural disaster in New Orleans.

Former US Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush launched a nationwide fund Monday to help victims of the deadly Hurricane Katrina that ravaged the US Gulf coast.

Hurricane Katrina struck the southeastern United States August 29, causing widespread damage and prompting the largest domestic relief effort in U.S. history.
