The target of the action - is a consolidation of Kazkahstani society to participate in the international dialogue, directed at a prevention of the war in Iraq. The action will take part in Kazakhconcert in the evening of 28 February. Representatives of various world faiths will pray together for a peaceful resolution of the Iraq crisis. Besides, during the action a concert will take place with Kazakh artists who will perform Kazakh classic and modern music. Also the same evening a written appeal to Kazakhstani people, world leaders and the world community. In particular, the "Peace appeal" says: "It's time to state our position with reference to a possible war in Iraq and to express our solidarity with millions of people on the whole planet, actively participating in the peace movement". "We believe that the conflict can be resolved peacefully, by means of international discussions and weighed decisions", - the appeal says. After the action signatures will be collected under the peace appeal which will be forwarded to foreign governments and international organisations. |
