First ever Kazakhstani motor race to Lhasa starts from Almaty

Audrus Josenas, head of the expedition "Tibet-2005" has stated this at a press conference in Almaty today, August 11, KZ-today reports.
Five specially prepared jeeps will make more than 10,000 km across all China and Tibet in 20 days.
Among the race participants there are citizens of Kazakhstan, Germany, Lithuania, and Latvia, many of whom are participants and winners of professional rallies and jeep-trial competitions.
The uniqueness of the race is in the fact that the expedition participants will reach Lhasa (The Sacred City), the unofficial capital of Tibet. |
