Kazakhstan and China ink a number of agreements

A number of bilateral agreements have been signed today, July 4, in Astana after the talks between Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan, and Hu Jintao, chairman of PRC, and open talks, KZ-today correspondent reports from the capital.

In particular, a joint Declaration on establishment and development of strategic partnership has been signed.

Besides, an agreement on co-operation in geology and subsurface use between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of RK, and the Ministry of Land Resources of PRC, an agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Water Resources of PRC "On immediate notification and timely information exchange during floods on transboundary rivers", and an agreement between the governments of RK and PRC "On regulation of activities of the international transboundary co-operation centre "Horgos."

The sides have also signed a Memorandum between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of RK and the Ministry of Railways of PRC on joint studies of a possibility of building a Trans-Kazakhstan Major Railway, with 1,435 mm railway gauge.

Besides, the Agency of RK for computerisation and communication and the Ministry of Information Industry of PRC signed a Memorandum on co-operation in information industry and communications.

An agreement on mutually beneficial co-operation has been signed between "KEGOC" JSC and the "State GRID Corporation of China" and a loan agreement between "Kaznurtel" LLC and China Development Bank have been inked as well.
