Kazakhstan offers aid to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan

"Kazakhstan is ready to provide any aid that might be required by Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan because we adhere to the idea of regional co-operation." Kassymzhomart Tokayev, foreign minister of Kazakhstan, has stated this today, June 15, at the international business conference of the Asian Society in Almaty, KZ-today reports.

"We are strongly concerned about the events in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan," - he has stressed.

K. Tokayev has reminded that "in 1998 the three states - Kazakhstan, he Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan - inked an Agreement on friendship and co-operation." In relation with this he has stated that Kazakhstan appreciates "lasting relations with all these states and believes that our destiny must be common with reference to our common market and a Union of Central Asian States proposed by the president of Kazakhstan."

"We follow the events in these states attentively and we would like to wish their peoples stability and prosperity. These states can overcome all difficulties because the potential of both Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is big," - Kazakhstani foreign minister is assured.
