Coordinating electric power council created in Central Asia

Representatives of national electric power companies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan created a coordinating electric power council on June 10 in Astana, KZ-today correspondent reports from the capital.

"We signed the documents and adopted a charter of this organisation," - Kanat Bozumbayev, president of "KEGOC" JSC, said at a press conference after the first meeting of the council. Main tasks of the council are to work out propositions on coordinated electric power development strategy in Central Asia and on rational utilisation of water energy resources.

K. Bozumbayev, president of "KEGOC" JSC, was elected the first chairman of the council.
