Year of Kazakhstan in Russia

During the negotiations, which will take place this afternoon, on 19 December in Cremlin, the presidents of RoK and RF will discuss the concept of the year of Kazakhstan in Russia, KZ-today has been advised in the embassy of RoK in RF.

It is expected that the heads of the two States today in a solemn atmosphere will announce 2003 in Russia - the year of Kazakhstan, which will assist the further development of bilateral relations.

During their meeting Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbaev, the embassy said, will discuss a wide spectrum of issues. It is suggested that the presidents will discuss the issues of bilateral interactions in trade and economics, fuel and energy, and military and technical areas. It is expected that the subject of negotiations is a further development of integration processes in CIS, Eurasian Economic Union, Collective Security Treaty and Shanghai Organisation of Cooperation. With reference to the strategic partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan the issues of the development of interaction of the two countries in the provision of security in Central Asian region, the fight against the international terrorism, religious extremism and drug trafficking will be discussed.

As the embassy said, N.Nazarbaev took part in the talk show "Vesti plus" and met heads of the leading Russian mass media on 18 December. In the first half of the day on 19 December, Kazakhstani president visited the Tracking Headquarters and cosmic rocket corporation "Energy" in Moscow suburb of Korolev.
