Foreign minister of RK condemns the terrorist act in Baghdad

text: "Kazakhstan Today" views: [77] Related articlesSecretary general thanked Kazakhstan for support Foreign minister to participate in the UN GA debates The foreign minister of RK Kassymzhomart Tokayev has condemned the terrorist act in Baghdad in which a special representative of the UN secretary general in Iraq Sergio Vjeira de Melo was killed, a report from the MFA of RK, circulated by its information and analysis department says. The foreign minister of Kazakhstan stressed that “this barbaric action was in the first place aimed against the UN that takes active measures for re-establishing the post-war Iraq and assists Iraqi people in superceding hard consequences of the war”. The report also says that Kazakhstan supports the central role of the UN in the reconstruction of Iraq and the stabilisation of situation in this country resolutely. K. Tokayev offered his condolences to the familiy and friends of Sergio Vjeira de Melo, as well as to the workers of UN mission in Iraq. The foreign minister of RK has also sent a telegram with condolences to the UN secretary general Kofi Annan. |
