Committee for international affairs, defence and security of the Senate of Parliament of RK considered and recommended to the upper chamber to ratify the Agreement with Russian Federation on the division of Northern part of Caspian Sea with a purpose of realisation of sovereign rights on mineral resources utilisation and the protocol to this Agreement, KZ-today has been advised by the Seanate press service on 29 October.

According to Kairat Abusseitov, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of RK, who presented the document to parliamentarians, this Agreement testifies changes in the conceptual approach of Russia, its rapprochement with the position of Kazakhstan on the issue of Caspian bottom division. According to this Agreement, K.Abusseitov advised, in the basis of which there is the resource principle, the dividing intermediary line is going such a way that RK realises its rights for resources usage at Kurmangazy structure and Russia - at Khvalyn field and Central structure. At the same time the development of resources will be carried out jointly.

K.Abusseitov observed that this Agreement will influence positions of other States, which in bigger or lesser degree will be forced to accept the same approach in the division of Caspian bottom.
