UNDP, UNESCO, ILO, UNICEF congratulate with the World Teacher's Day

Mark Malloch Brown, UNDP Administrator, Koichiro Matsuura, UNESCO Director-General, Juan Somavia, Director-General of ILO, Carol Bellamy, Executive-Director of UNICEF, have signed a joint message on occasion of World Teacher's Day, celebrated around the world on 5 October. The text of the message has been added on unesco.ru web-site in the Internet, KZ-today correspondent.

The message, in particular says: "The teachers occupy central place in any process, directed at an increase of educational level, it depends on them that the people learn how to live peacefully together so that the world gets rid of racism. …It's exactly at the moment when the need in teachers is especially high, it is regrettable that many countries perceive a lack of them".

Heads of international organisations called the governments of all countries to "create good physical and moral conditions for teachers life and work and provide their worthy reimbursements, as it is provided by international recommendations, concerning the teachers condition".

The message was signed in UNESCO headquarters in Paris in the first days of October 2002.

On Sunday, 6 October in all towns and villages of Kazakhstan the events will take place dedicated to the Teacher's Day, which is celebrated on the territory of CIS on the first Sunday of October, will be celebrated by events. The work of the best representatives of this profession will be honoured by diplomas, honourable papers, money reimbursements.
