OSCE and Asian states exchange security experiences

The second conference of OSCE and Korea entitled "New challenges to stability and new paradigm of security" took place on 25-26 April in Seoul, MFA of RK has advised KZ-today.

Security and co-operation in North-East Asia were regarded at the conference. The delegations of the OSCE member states and Asian countries exchanged their experience in Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security with reference to the current situation in the region.

Dimitrij Rupel, OSCE chairman-in-office, Jan Kubis, OSCE secretary general, top officials from the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, other Asian countries, and the OSCE were present.

The Kazakhstani delegation was headed by Rakhat Aliyev, permanent representative of RK to the OSCE. In his speech he outlined the position and approaches of Kazakhstan towards security and stability in the region and informed the audience about an initiative to carry out a joint forum OSCE-CICA.

During the conference R. Aliyev also negotiated with the OSCE secretary general and heads of delegations from the Asian OSCE partner countries.
