The demand of the law "On mass media" about 50% broadcasting in the state language is "a national security matter." Ardak Doszhan, vice minister of culture, information, and sports, made such statement at a session of mazhilis working group dedicated to national security yesterday, April 14.

He said that "lately citizens often complain that they … cannot find TV programmes in the state language in the evening time."

That is why mazhilis deputies Amangheldy Aitaly and Bekbolat Tleukhan suggested to introduce amendments on equal distribution of programmes in Kazakh and Russian in the law "On mass media."
