Bishkek. July 23. Kazakhstan Today - The current President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, in case of election for the second term, does not intend to run for the state post for the third term. He stated today after he had voted at the polling district №1223.

K. Bakiev, having reminded of his promise not to run for the president's post more than two terms, underlined that he is a person who "keeps his words and respects the law." "The law should be respected and executed. If in other countries there are laws where presidents' of the states can be elected for 10 or 20 years, or even for a lifelong term period, let them work if it does not contradict their legislation, but we will not have something like this," the President of Kyrgyzstan stated.

As informed earlier, six candidates applied for the president's post of Kyrgyzstan: the current head of the Republic, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, the leader of Muslim Group Zhoomart, Nurlan Motuev, the representative of opposition, Almazbek Atambaev, a well-known doctor, an expert in narcology, Zhenishbek Nazaraliev, the chairman of the party Akshumkar, Temir Sariev, and chairman of NGO and NCO of Kyrgyzstan, Toktoyym Umetalieva.
