Kazakhstan Today - The head of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, took part in the ceremony of laying of a memorable capsule at the cathedral mosque of Astana, the agency reports citing the president's press service.
The President has familiarized with a model of the mosque, which is intended to sit 5000 people.
"Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the head of the state said the fact that the mosque will be constructed near the Palace of Peace and Concord and the monument Kazak Eli is not a coincidence. It will be one of the most beautiful architectural constructions of Astana highlighting the spiritual riches, greatness of our history, and unity of the people of our country," the press service informed.
According to the press service, Nursultan Nazarbayev offered to name the future cathedral mosque - Hazret Sultan. Four 91 meters minarets will surround it. This grandiose construction will meet all the modern requirements. Its construction will begin in the nearest future.
