Transit of Kazakhstan and Turkmen oil through Azerbaijan increased twice

Baku. April 29. Kazakhstan Today - Daily average volume of transit of Kazakhstan and Turkmen oil through Azerbaijan for I quarter 2009 has increased twice in comparison to a similar indicator of 2008, up to 120 thousand barrels a day, vice chairman of Marketing and Export Department of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Nuru Guliev, informed, the agency reports.

"40 thousand barrels of Tengiz oil a day is transported through the oil pipeline Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan (BTC) and the rest of volume is transported through the railway Baku - Batumi," N. Guliev informed in Baku at III Caspian Oil and Gas Trading-Transport Conference.

He also said that in 2008 transit of Kazakhstan and Turkmen oil and mineral oil through Azerbaijan increased by 52 % in comparison with 2007.
