Nazarbayev made personnel rearrangements in government and regions of the country

Astana. March 5. Kazakhstan Today - The head of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, made a number of personnel rearrangements in the government structure and the regions of the country, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Umirzak shukeev has been appointed First Deputy Prime Minister by the decree of the president.

Serik Ahmetov has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister, who earlier worked as Minister of Transport and Communications. He will supervise transport, communications, increase of the Kazakhstan's share in joint projects with the foreign companies, and development of small and medium business.

The Prime Minister will supervise the financial and economic block. His assistant, Erbol Orynbayev, will supervise macroeconomic and social block.

The head of the state also informed on personnel rearrangements in the ministries and the regions.

The Minister of Environmental Protection, Nurlan Iskakov, has sent in his resignation in connection with financial police investigation concerning his two assistants.

Gulshara Abdykalikova has been appointed for the post of Minister of Labour and Social Protection, who earlier worked as the President's Adviser - chairman of the National Commission for Women's Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan. She has replaced in this post Berdibek Saparbayev, who has been appointed akim of the Eastern Kazakhstan region.
