Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the National Bank, Grigory Marchenko, today at the government session, informed all operating BTA shareholders will remain its share participants, the agency reports.
"Yes, the state has purchased 78 percent of the shares, but all operating shareholders will remain," G. Marchenko said.
Thus, he emphasized that the shares have been purchased because the current shareholders could not provide normal functioning of the bank.
The chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan noted that there will be no state commercial banks for the long-term basis in the Republic. "I already said that our structure is correct and the commercial banks should not belong to the state. We need to restore this system. What is taking place now is an emergency measures to support the banks as the current shareholders could not do it. Therefore, I am against creation of the state commercial banks for the long-term basis," it is not our way," he said.
