The Minister of Industry and Commerce of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Schkolnik, informed at the meeting in the department with participation of the Prime Minister today, the agency reports.
"6.8 million square meters of total area of apartment houses will be commissioned in 2008, which is 102.3 % by 2007.
Last year, the construction materials manufacturers in the country produced construction materials for the sum of 365 billion KZT, which exceeds volume of the production imported from abroad.
"Import of construction materials decreased down to 19 billion KZT," the Industry Minister noted.
In his opinion, it is connected with the situation in the construction industry.
