USA welcomes creation of Coast Guard in Kazakhstan

Astana. January 16. Kazakhstan Today - The USA welcomes creation of Coast Guard in Kazakhstan. The US Central Command chief, General-Lieutenant David Petreaus, informed during the meeting with the First Vice Director of Boundary Service of KNB of Kazakhstan General-Major, Marat Mazhitov, on Thursday, the agency reports citing Kazakhstan KNB press service.

According to the press service, during the meeting the parties exchanged opinions concerning bilateral cooperation of Boundary Service of KNB of Kazakhstan with the USA Armed Forces within the limits of the program 'Struggle Against Drugs'.

D. Petreaus noted that the government of the USA welcomes creation in Kazakhstan of Coast Guard and in the further will continue cooperation in the program 'Struggle Against Drugs' to counteraction to traffic of drugs in the water areas of the Caspian Sea and in other regions of Kazakhstan.
