Majilis approved ratification of memorandums between Kazakhstan, USA governments providing support to antiterrorist operation Indestructible Freedom

Astana. November 5. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session Majilis deputies approved the bill on ratification of the memorandum of mutual understanding between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the United States of America of December 15, 2001 and the bill on ratification of the memorandum of mutual understanding between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the United States of America of July 10, 2002, the agency reports.

According to Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kayrat Sarybay, the memorandum of December 15, 2001 was signed in Astana before the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to the USA, which took place on December 17 - 21, 2001.

"During his visit the Kazakhstan party officially declared readiness to support the efforts of the international community in struggle against terrorism, religious and political extremism," Vice Minister said.

"The other memorandum of mutual understanding of July 10, 2002 was signed as a logical continuation of the memorandum of December 15, 2001 to continue support of antiterrorist operation Indestructible Freedom carried out by the international coalition in Afghanistan."

According to the conclusion of Majilis Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security, Kazakhstan will provide its aero navigation service without imposing taxes on the US planes involved in realization of the operation Indestructible Freedom.

According to the memorandum, in case of accidents the parties will hold consultations in the spirit of partnership.
