Kazakhstan not planning on sending soldiers to Iraq

Almaty. October 23. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan does not plan on sending the army to Iraq. The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Danial Ahmetov, informed during his working visit to Atyrau oblast, the agency reports referring to official mass media.

D. Ahmetov reminded that one of these days Kazakhstan combat engineering group was withdrawn from Iraq. Our soldiers neutralized more than 5 million mines and ammunition. The Kazakhstan doctors along with the Iraq colleagues and colleagues from other countries rendered medical aid to more than 500 local residents," he said.

"I am satisfied with the work of our division on this site. We have received experience working in difficult conditions. Our military men have executed very important duties and have assisted restoration of peace and stability in this country," the Minister continued.

He informed that Kazakhstan has received positive assessment of its activity in cooperation with this very important block at the session NATO - Kazakhstan in Brussels.
